Wow! Well it was only yesterday, Saturday Oct 3rd, but I’m still feeling pretty good!
We had a big turnout! Steady trickle throughout the day that went on long enough for me to lose count of attendees!
The afternoon was kicked off by Sam Lewis and Hunter Diamond’s send up of Sam’s personal African American Family history, as told through advanced and ancient puppetry.
Steph Skillz was on facepaints. You’ll see the pics below because — words don’t do it!

John Cameron, my cousin, manned the grill for hot dogs and hamburgers and I brought in some gourmet pulled pork.
The highlight of the afternoon, other than Roo and the neighborhood kids coming and going and occasionally disrupting conversation was– the apple press manned by Ben McMunn himself. What a feat of strength that was to my taste buds! It was worth every ounce of Ben’s blood, sweat and tears!
Mmmm hmmm good!! We were all surprised. I feel like I finally understand why Apple Cider is so popular. It and the puppet show have been declared mainstays of ShooBooty Studios Apple Fest! Thanks to the Jerry McMunn family who kept this apparatus in working condition for decades. We’re gonna make sure the tradition lives on in hearts of as many families as possible.
Much gratitude to Mary and Robert Israelite, Ben McMunn, John Cameron, Janette Dingee!
Thanks for the memories from you!!
